Schuberg Philis

The expertise of CUE-Support is enormous
Schuberg Philis bridges the gap between business and technology. They do this by providing IT solutions that are 100% uptime and deliver impact across all operations at the heart of organizations. That same 100% is what the company needs in their audiovisual assets. Xander and Marco are responsible for the AV and unburden colleagues regarding communications. They are responsible for furnishing every meeting room in the building. Every project is different: one day they are engaged in livestreams and live events with a whole studio set up, the next day with a team meeting or e.g. a fuck up cafe. There are also interviews that are filmed on location whose footage is later shared during a livestream or event.

“During the pandemic, the demand for hybrid meetings increased. Again, you have all kinds of forms in that, so we looked for what the best ways were,” Xander explains. “We wanted to be very flexible, so we asked Roger, ‘help us.’ We have a challenge. We want to be able to switch everything and we need help with that.’ Customer requests were getting more and more complex, and we didn’t want to be limited in our options.”

Xander and his colleagues at Schuberg Philis do everything themselves. Streams are provided in different ways and different platforms are used. Since no two projects are done the same way, that’s where the challenge lay. “At other locations, everything is often pre-programmed and presets are used. Here we have to rearrange cameras or reroute cables every day.”

So the ideal way to provide a hybrid meeting can be changeable at Schuberg. At the recommendation of CUE support, two dome cameras and one fixed camera were purchased that can be controlled from one point in the direction. The dome cameras are easy to move, so the best option can be considered for each project. Xander: “We can hang them in the truss, but we wanted just that flexibility. Now we use a pair of reels which makes moving them very easy. All the controls are in there and that makes it a lot more comfortable for us. We used to have someone standing behind the camera, that’s no longer necessary.”

That the link to Roger and CUE-Support for this issue was quickly established is not surprising. The two companies have been working together for some time. “And CUE is not rid of us for the time being,” says Xander followed by a laugh. “The cooperation is very pleasant. I only have to call one of the guys with a question and I get an answer right away. The expertise is tremendous.”

Another thing that Xander says is very pleasant about CUE-Support is that Roger and his colleagues go just a little further than what he asks. “It’s not that I ask for something and then get something. It’s asking through: what is your goal? What do you want to achieve? Then I notice that technology develops quickly and we get tips on what we can do/achieve. Then they give tips or ask: have you already thought about this? That makes our cooperation very nice.”

Fast switching and expert knowledge, Xander believes, are the absolute pluses of CUE-Support’s services. Also, thinking with the customer is a huge plus. “If they have found a new product and think it could be something for us, they ask. Often I am then sent it to test it. If I find it interesting, I can inquire further and otherwise it was just nice to have seen. It’s not pushy. Roger informs in a nice way, He thinks: this suits that customer and I’ll let him know. That’s very nice.”
