With the introduction of the Atomos Shinobi II, Atomos brings the successor with improved functionality of its popular predecessor. With several upgrades in brightness, camera control and housing design, Atomos manages to take the Shinobi to the next level. If you want to start upgrading your Shinobi, this is your chance. Should you be looking for a new, versatile camera monitor, you have found it....
Thinner. Feller. Camera operation.
Atomos' new Shinobi II is a versatile 5-inch monitor that adds value on any camera. Its new slim design makes the monitor easier to carry and use. The Shinobi II sits Packed with features and tools that every professional videographer wants in their lineup. Think focus-peaking, zebras, exposure tools and framing grids. The 1500 nits HDR display lets you see everything, even on a sunlit day. This is how you make sure every shot is perfect.
New features
In addition to these familiar tools, a new feature has been added to the monitor, Camera Control. Through a USB-C connection, the monitor can control settings from your camera. For example, iris, ISO, shutter speed and white balance can be adjusted via Atomos' convenient touchscreen interface. The cleverly designed AtomOS 11 makes it easy to navigate the menus and turn on and off the features you are looking for quickly and easily. Once you start recording in-camera, a red border will also appear around the monitor's screen, so you can always see clearly when you are recording!
Camera Control
It is currently possible to use the Shinobi II to control various mirrorless cameras from Canon, Pansonic, Sony (USB-C) and Z-Cam E2 (USB-C to serial cable) brands. Future firmware updates will add cameras from Fujifilm, Nikon, OM System and SIGMA.
Locking HDMI connector
In addition to this new Camera Control feature, you can now connect the monitor via a locking HDMI cable adapter. Locking cables are available separately. The monitor can handle 4K signals up to 30p and FullHD to 60p.
Power Supply
The camera is powered via USB-C PD or an NP-F battery. Due to the low power consumption of the efficient hardware in this monitor, one NP-F battery gives you enough power to power the monitor all day long.
Accessories
An SD card slot allows you to perform firmware updates and install LUTs on the monitor. Possible accessories include a sunhood, battery, battery charger and a camera mount.
In the box
In the box, of course, you will find the Shinobi II monitor, a USB-C 2.0 cable, the HDMI and USB-C locking cable adapter and a Quick Start Guide.
